Compliant with the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 came into force on the 1st October 2013. It is now illegal for any person to pay cash for scrap cars or scrap metals. In addition to this it is also compulsory for all buyers of scrap cars or scrap metal to obtain valid photo ID of the seller.
Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013:
- We do not purchase scrap metal from any person without verifying the person’s full name and address
- All metal sellers have to provide photo ID card at the point of sale
- We record the description of the metal, including its type (or types if mixed), form and weight including date and time
- We do not pay cash for scrap metal
