END OF LIFE VEHICLE (ELV) DIRECTIVE
|
The ELV (2000/53/EC) Directive introduces measures to promote and increase recycling and to further protect the environment by requiring adequate depollution (draining of oils, fluids, etc.) and sets out minimum technical requirements for the treatment of ELV's.
ELV treatment facilties carrying out depollution are licensed as "authorised treatment facilities" (ATF's) by the Environment Agency. |

DVLA CERTIFICATES OF DESTRUCTION
One other requirement of the directive is that all ATF's must issue a DVLA Certificate of Destruction, when a vehicle is presented to an ATF as scrap.
|
 |
At both of our licensed ATF sites, we have permanent on-line links to the DVLA computer. This enables us to submit vehicle details to the DVLA while you wait, providing the vehicle details, VIN numbers etc are confirmed correct, we are then able to print out a DVLA Certificate of Destruction. These certificates are proof from the DVLA that the vehicles have been successfully scrapped. |
 |
They are then given to the customer to retain prior to leaving. All vehicles are crushed on site, and no vehicle is ever re-sold or put back on the public road.
Customers are requested to bring along their Vehicle Registration Document,V5,when presenting a vehicle for scrap. The V5 will be retained by the ATF when the Certificate of Destruction is issued. |

ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTMENT
We have made substantial investments into the installation of state of the art vehicle depollution equipment supplied by Seda.
The waste oils and fluids that are drained from end of life vehicles are then collected by specialist firms to be recycled. |
